Our Story

As childhood friends, we talked multiple times about one day partnering up and creating a business together. We brainstormed numerous ideas through the years and finally realized that we both share the same passion about creating art that is colorful, unique, and brightens spaces. Once we started discussing the details of creating an online art business, we realized that not only did we want to sell art to be the perfect addition to any wall or space, but we also wanted our art to serve a purpose in our community. We decided that we would create a website to sell art online, but that a portion of the net proceeds would go to support local non-profit organizations that we were involved with in our community. McDESIGNS was formed.

We then realized we both knew a lot of talented and creative artists at our school and had seen some really amazing things they had created. We would ask them, "Hey, what did you do with that piece of art we saw you working on?" and 9 out of 10 times their answer would be that it was in their desk drawer, collecting dust on a shelf at home or that they actually had no clue where it was. That's when we came up with the idea of expanding our web business concept so that it attracted talented young artists wanting to showcase their artwork for free while also giving them an opportunity to give back to their community in the process.

McDESIGNS provides a platform to promote amazing young artists by providing exposure to their work. In return, these artists can pay it forward by donating the net proceeds of the sales of their donated piece to local charities in need.
